2019–2024 Silverado 1500: factory suspension and factory lift packages matter

The current Silverado 1500 market has several branches that can look similar in a generic year/make/model search. Rough Country’s current 6-inch 4WD system excludes 2019 Classic trucks, Adaptive Ride Control, LT Trail Boss, Custom Trail Boss and ZR2. BDS’s standard 4-inch gas and diesel systems also separate engine and suspension conditions. ReadyLIFT’s shared-GM 4-inch SST excludes Silverado Trail Boss and ZR2 applications and also excludes Super Cruise.

That means the useful first question is not “Which 6-inch kit fits a 2022 Silverado?” It is “Which system is documented for this exact 2022 Silverado trim, engine, suspension and rear-spring configuration?”

Adaptive Ride Control needs an ARC-specific path

Some systems explicitly exclude Adaptive Ride Control, while others are designed to retain it. BDS publishes dedicated ARC-only GM 1500 applications for High Country and Denali configurations. ReadyLIFT 69-39400 takes a different approach for 2019–2024 and states that it works with or without ARC. If the truck has ARC, use a system whose current manufacturer documentation explicitly supports ARC rather than assuming a non-ARC kit will work.

For a Silverado High Country with ARC, use a product page that explicitly names that suspension. The same principle applies to later electronic-suspension or premium-trim packages.

2025–2026 standard and High Country ARC trucks remain separate

BDS’s current 2025–2026 4-inch gas applications keep the same separation visible in earlier years. BDS1851FS is the standard non-ARC route and excludes High Country and ZR2, while BDS1852H is specifically for High Country applications with Adaptive Ride Control. The year range is the same, but the factory suspension and trim are not interchangeable.

Trail Boss and ZR2 start from different factory geometry

Rough Country’s 2019–2024 6-inch application excludes LT Trail Boss, Custom Trail Boss and ZR2 because those trucks already carry factory suspension differences. ReadyLIFT’s current 4-inch SST also excludes Trail Boss and ZR2. Do not use the advertised final lift from a standard Silverado kit as if it automatically applies to a factory-lift trim.

Wheel and rear-spring details can change the hardware

Rough Country’s 6-inch 4WD system states that factory wheels do not fit, requires 20-inch or larger aftermarket wheels and calls for 4.5 inches of backspacing, with wheel test-fit before installation. BDS’s 4-inch system states that factory 17- and 18-inch wheels cannot be reinstalled, while factory 20-inch wheels can be reused; it also publishes 33- and 35-inch tire combinations with backspacing requirements and warns that trimming may be required.

On the rear axle, BDS and ReadyLIFT documentation also distinguish mono-leaf applications or alternate U-bolt hardware. That is another reason to verify the truck under the vehicle rather than rely only on the VIN-facing model name.

What to identify on the Silverado before ordering

For a 2019 truck, first determine whether it is the current body style or a Classic/Limited application. Then confirm drive type, Trail Boss or ZR2 status, Adaptive Ride Control, engine and rear-leaf configuration. Those checks determine whether the truck belongs in a standard-suspension, ARC-compatible, factory-lift or engine-specific path.

Also record the wheels you intend to use rather than assuming the factory wheels can be retained. Current systems differ on minimum wheel diameter, backspacing, factory-wheel reuse and trimming. If the truck has Super Cruise or another manufacturer-listed electronic feature, keep that restriction attached to the exact kit rather than treating it as a general Silverado rule.
