Ford F-250 Lift Kits: Super Duty Configuration Matters
F-250 lift kits can split by generation, engine, Tremor package, dually configuration, transfer-case type, driveshaft choices and rear overload springs. Start with the exact Super Duty configuration before comparing lift height.
Separate 2017–2022 from 2023–2026 first
The F-250 Super Duty has current lift systems for both the 2017–2022 and 2023–2026 generations, but the parts and exclusions are not interchangeable. The current systems we cover include Rough Country 3-inch systems for each generation, a 4.5-inch F-250/F-350 system for 2017–2022, and a 6-inch F-250/F-350 system for 2023–2026.
The generation split matters because newer products introduce different engine, transfer-case, ADAS and driveline notes. A search result that simply says “F-250 lift kit” is not enough to establish the correct product family.
Current F-250 systems we track
| System | Application | Lift | Important checks |
|---|---|---|---|
| Rough Country 50221 family | 2017–2022 F-250 4WD | 3 in. | Generation-specific Super Duty application; verify engine, axle and overload-spring notes on the selected configuration. |
| Rough Country 506 family | 2017–2022 F-250/F-350 4WD | 4.5 in. | Larger-system path with additional suspension and wheel/tire requirements. |
| Rough Country 43630 family | 2023–2026 F-250 4WD | 3 in. | Diesel application; excludes F-350, dually and Tremor; factory top-mounted overload spring needs additional U-bolt hardware. |
| Rough Country 43730 family | 2023–2026 F-250/F-350 4WD | 6 in. | Diesel only; excludes manual-shift transfer case, dually and Tremor; front driveshaft is an available configuration choice. |
Engine and factory-package exclusions can rule out a kit
Rough Country’s current 3-inch 2023–2026 F-250 page says the system does not fit gas-engine trucks, F-350 models, dually trucks or Tremor. It also calls out a separate U-bolt requirement for trucks with a factory top-mounted overload spring. The 6-inch 2023–2026 system likewise excludes gas engines, manual-shift transfer cases, dually trucks and Tremor.
Those are not preference differences. If the truck has one of those excluded configurations, move to a kit whose current manufacturer information supports it.
Driveshaft and ADAS details become more important as lift height grows
The 2023–2026 6-inch Rough Country system is configurable with or without a front driveshaft, and its notes warn that models with a 10-speed transmission require removal of a dowel pin. The same page says ADAS and LiDAR recalibration may be necessary after installation.
That makes “6 inches” only one part of the decision. A complete build plan also needs to account for driveline configuration, electronics and any manufacturer-required setup work.
Wheel and tire guidance is system-specific
On the cited 6-inch 2023–2026 system, Rough Country publishes combinations ranging from 35-inch to 37-inch tires across 17-, 18-, 20- and 22-inch wheels. Some 20×9 combinations are listed without trimming, while 20×10 and 20×12 setups can require minor or full trimming depending on offset.
Do not turn that into a universal “6-inch F-250 = 37s” rule. Wheel width, offset, tire construction and the exact lift system remain part of the clearance evidence.
Shopping after you confirm the exact Super Duty configuration
Once generation, engine, Tremor/dually status and transfer-case/driveshaft requirements are clear, the F-250 shopping route can be used to compare current listings. Shopping availability does not change whether the kit fits.

Frequently asked questions
Does every 2023–2026 F-250 lift kit fit both gas and diesel trucks?
No. Current systems can be engine-specific. The cited Rough Country 3-inch and 6-inch 2023–2026 systems are diesel-only applications.
Will the same F-250 kit fit a Tremor?
Not automatically. Several current Super Duty systems explicitly exclude the Tremor factory package, so the product page must name support for that configuration.
Why can the front driveshaft matter on a large F-250 lift?
Larger suspension changes can alter front driveline geometry. Some current systems offer a front driveshaft option or publish specific driveline requirements.
Can I choose F-250 tires from lift height alone?
No. Manufacturer guidance ties tire size to wheel diameter, width, offset and sometimes trimming. Use the exact product table rather than lift height alone.
